The Secretary's Desk:
I don't know how many of you read newsletter or "trestle board" columns from lodge secretaries, but I'll bet you that almost every column mentions that dues are about to be due on January 1, or dues are now due, or dues are past due, or it is nearing the time for delinquent members to be possibly suspended.

There is a reason for secretaries to seem to be so preoccupied with dues. It's not really the money, either.

Secretaries may not know each of the lodge's members intimately, but they know most all of you by name and you mean something to your secretary.  Your secretary is pleased when a member remits his dues promptly upon
receiving the first dues notice shortly before January 1.

  Bob Hinshaw, PGM
He knows you are well and still interested in your lodge's well-being. Your secretary gets concerned when the weeks or months go by without an answer to the first, second or third dues notice. If the Post Office doesn't return the notice as "undeliverable", we assume the notice was received.

We hope there is no serious reason why we have not heard from you or why we have not gotten an
address change. What your secretary is asking is: Keep in touch with me. If you have a problem, let me know. Perhaps we can help. If you move, please let us know, so I can keep in touch with you and send you our monthly newsletter.

You are important to us. Please come to lodge whenever you can. Write me if I can be of any assistance. The address is on the masthead. Thanks, and see, I didn't dwell on unpaid dues (this time, that is).

than the obligation.  I maintain that the obligation is the single most important tie that binds us together as one sacred band of brothers.  Remember the stories of times past where Masons have helped each other out while putting themselves in great peril.   They have selflessly worked to effect social change in
order to make the world a better place, not just
for Masons but for all people.   This month I urge all of us to think about our obligation and work hard to fill the shoes of those who came before us.

Yours Fraternally,
John P. Bradford, Senior Warden

The Junior Warden' Station

By John Prescott, JW

The last few month's have been very busy for our Brothers as we have had several new members petition the Lodge and the officers have been real busy practicing for degree work. We couldn't do it without Worshipful Brother Keith Mann's patience and dedication to our Craft.

Please plan to attend our Special Invitation which Worshipful Brother Tony Fisher has called for on July 12th at 6pm. An awards presentation will be conducted for recent 25, 50 and one 60 year service award. Dinner will be served at no charge! If transportation is required, please call our secretary, Brother Bob Hinshaw (877-3884.)
We are privileged to have so many interesting brothers in our Lodge that could share so much with us all.

If you haven't yet seen our web site, check it out for all the latest information on our Lodge activity and while you are there, fill out our guest book.

We have had some great meetings recently and the practices have been a lot of fun as our younger officers (me) learn the Work from our more experienced Brothers.

Thank You Wor. Brother Ben Long for getting the heavy "cool seal" onto the roof for us last week! And Dana for depositing the waste!

Also a Big Thanks to Bro. Dana Hawkins for sending us two men to work on the roof since he could not be there.
